Genetics

This section covers possible genetic and chromosomal factors that parents may investigate when looking for explanations of a child's developmental differences.

It may include inherited and new genetic variants, mutations, deletions, duplications, chromosomal changes and genetic syndromes. Genetic testing belongs under “Assessments” and links to the relevant topics here.

Inclusion in this section does not mean that a genetic factor has been established or applies to every child.
