Pregnancy and Birth
This section covers possible factors before birth, during delivery and in the early neonatal period.
It may include maternal health, infections, medicines, medical procedures and other exposures during pregnancy, pregnancy and birth complications, modes of delivery, possible birth injuries, hypoxia, prematurity and events during the first days of life.
Assessments and interventions remain in their corresponding sections. The presence of an event in a pregnancy or birth history does not by itself establish it as a cause of a child's characteristics.
